Palliative Navigation
Not wanting to be a burden, wishes for privacy, and wanting to be seen as capable and coping are common reasons people are hesitant to ask for help. We’re here for you. Anyone can make a referral.
Provides:
Support for you and your caregivers.
Works with Homecare and your medical team.
Information, resources, answers to all your questions.
A request for Palliative Navigation Program can also be done by calling 403-934-8199 or through a medical provider (MD office, Homecare, or Strathmore Hospital Acute Care Desk).
Bedside Respite
Giving some tasks to others lets you focus on tasks you feel you can do yourself.
Provides:
A local, trained palliative volunteer.
Practical and emotional support.
Day or evening visits in-home or hospital
Allows caregivers a chance to rest and rejuvenate.
Ask Homecare, Palliative Navigator, or Acute Care Nurse about Bedside Respite.
Tech+Care
Need some help with access to online information? We've got 'technology plus caring' to share.
Provides:
ipad and data (if needed)
aa volunteers to give a hand to you or your family to see online resources that suits you best
a volunteer to share and support your viewing time
an opportunity to FaceTime with distant friends or family

Learning Essential Approaches to Palliative Care ( LEAP)
Education and training for health care professions are fundamental to improving end-of-life care in our community.
MDs, nurses, RT’s and EMS participation.
Teaches a better understanding of symptom control, medication management, and advanced care planning.
It’s OK for patients and families to start the conversation about end of life too with their healthcare providers.
